Preventative Dentistry
The main reason for going to the dentist regularly is prevention. The
goal is to prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other disorders that
put the health of your teeth and mouth at risk. Combining good daily
oral hygiene with regular visits to your dentist, are very important if
you want to keep your gums, teeth, and smile healthy.
From routine cleanings and checkups, to more in-depth gum care
treatments, we're equipped to help you obtain and maintain a healthy
smile. We will spend the time necessary to instruct you regarding the
best hygiene methods to use at home. We're also here to help you
understand what you should be aware of to prevent the silent beginnings
of gum disease.
Keep practicing these tips at home for a healthy mouth and smile!
- Brush at least twice a day with a fluorinated toothpaste that has the American Dental Association (ADA) seal of acceptance
- Daily flossing to keep plaque from building up in those hard to reach areas
- Use an antibacterial mouthwash daily
- See your dentist if your gums bleed when you brush or eat
